November brought full bellies and big progress for Lok:Rebirth. Before we go over the progress, let’s catch you up on our goals as we continue to work through December
First and foremost, getting Build 0.1.8.0 into the Praetorians hands as soon as possible is our top priority. We’re hoping to meet this goal before Christmas. As is the case with all deadlines, this is our best guess without any major hiccups.
Following the Test Build release for Praetorians, we’re going to move into a thorough round of Q/A testing. Reflecting on our releases in 2023, we struggled addressing bugs before shipping the build to the Aldrukai and Praetorian Supporters. As we transition into 2024. We are determined to deliver a Stable and Complete Build 0.1.8.0.
However bug reporting is an important and necessary step as more supporters play Lok:Rebirth. We encourage all players to join our Discord and use the Feedback and Bug Reporting tools there. https://discord.gg/jxetXX2yYY
So what is going to be in Build 0.1.8.0?
Build 0.1.8.0 features the largest cache of animations yet. Gauldryn, Kantir, Nesi, and the Chieftain have content spread across a multitude of scenes. From a Hands on Experience in the Tavern to Sharing the Burdens of the Pot. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to be romanced by a Jotnar.
In addition to keeping the physical relationship between Foxes and Lizards strong. Vlad has worked steadily bringing a collection of new dialogues to the Razorclaw Tribe. Begin by Introducing yourself to the Sweet and Bubbly Uylani. Then Gawk at Eri’s Eloquent Insults. Or maybe join Sek as he harkens back to a long ago War.
Tying this all together is our code duo of Ron and Hooch. Between Implementing the Pot Quest, Building the Waterfall and Squashing the Bugs, their focus has been on building a complete experience for the Praetorians. In addition Ron and Hooch worked on giving the Village a more Natural Feel. This can be best seen through two changes. First we Improved the Ai Pathing for NPCs. This change allows us greater control on where Characters go, limiting the random strolling around.. Second we reworked the Camera Angle for Dialogues with NPCs. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Before We Speak Again
October and November were difficult Months for the Lok:Rebirth Team. From much needed breaks caused by sickness to losing countless hours to Computer Hardware failures. We were challenged to Minimize the Setbacks.
We cannot express how Grateful we are for your Patience. We’re a Small Team with Lofty Goals that You make Possible. Thank You for Sticking With Us Through Thick and Thin.
Until Next Time. Peace and Stay Strong
