Happy Wednesday Everyone! Congratulations on surviving the Solar Flares this past weekend. The Earth was bathed in borrowed energy and radiation from the Sun. A lucky few were rewarded to a magnificent light show of pinks, greens, and blues dancing across the night sky. While the rest of us can enjoy an update on Kay and her adventures with the Razorclaw Tribe.

A couple weeks ago, we showed off Kuja’s progress on the new Splash Art coming to the game soon. Here’s that Example for you to enjoy!

As you can see, Kay, Sek and Keakrix are all finished! Currently Kuja is working on finishing Nesi’s art. Next will be Eri getting the Splash Art treatment. We’re looking forward to showing them off very soon!

Next up is animations, Cenvir has been Rigged and Weighted! This means Cenvir can be Animated and finally Implemented into Lok: Rebirth.

This means Build 0.1.9.0 is coming soon! Not Soon™️ but Soon Soon!

This is a good opportunity to introduce any new followers to how we roll out new builds. To skip the refresher, ctrl-f for the Animal that has smooth skin, a fluked tail, and has a striking resemblance to a Manatee.

Praetorians are granted access to the testing server. When new builds are announced, they are the first ones to play the game. With this, Praetorians are able to provide feedback and make suggestions before Updates are released. However these builds may not be content complete when you download them. This role is reserved for those who wish to have direct collaboration with us to build the best Game possible.

Following that, Aldrukai and Bloodbound Supporters are able to download the Update from the Launcher. You enter with the full changelog and release notes for Lok:Rebirth. Allowing you to play the Completed Update first.

This signals the beginning of a predictable roll out schedule for our Marines, Pilots, and Peons. Marines gain access to the most recent Update two weeks after the Bloodbounds and Aldrukai. Following the Marines, Pilots may download the Update 2 weeks later. Finally the Peons gain access to the Update two weeks after the Pilots.

Any support you give only strengthens our ability to make Lok:Rebirth the best game it could be. While there are other perks to consider when choosing your Tier. We hope this rollout schedule provides the flexibility to Support in the manner best suited for You.

The Answer to the question was Dugong :]

Before we let you enjoy your Week, let’s discuss Combat and where we’re at.

Our overall goal is to build a real-time turn based, or ‘Real time with pause’ combat system. Which is similar to KOTOR, Pathfinder, and Baldur’s Gate 1/2. Using RPG mechanics, abilities, and a leveling system. The subject of discussion these past few weeks have been on UI. Below you can see a mockup Created by Kuja.

We also began working on Combat Animations. We’re striving to strike a balance of making them look nice, while keeping a level of simplicity to help maximize variety. Everything is still heavy WIP. With the fruits of this work not being seen until after release build 0.1.9.0.

That’s all for today folks! Thank you for the Support. Until next time. Peace and Stay Strong.
