July Dev Progress Part I

By July 2, 2024October 21st, 2024No Comments

Hello neighbors, here’s your weekly progress update from our team. Despite some team members facing health issues and other challenges, we’ve made substantial progress.

  • Fashion Alert: It’s time for Kay to ditch that worn-out suit. We’ve brainstormed several tribal suit designs and decided on a simple, fun outfit that doesn’t exactly scream “Razorclaw Warrior,” but something players will enjoy flaunting around. We plan to add this to Vanlen’s shop, where you can exchange respect points to purchase it once we’ve sufficiently stocked our shops. Here’s the selected design (WIP):

Coding and Fixes: Ron, our lead coder, is diligently merging various fixes and builds while also integrating new dialogues. This process is time-consuming but also crucial for things to work.

Village Expansion: We’re creating new assets for and  utilizing the previously created modular tent parts to introduce new tents in the village, accommodating the upcoming characters. Look out for new objects and Kantir’s tent and others soon.

Animation Updates: Our animators are busy crafting kitchen and NSFW animations for scenes involving our new character, Nara. They’re also rigging two space marines on the ship, enabling full dialogue interactions with Sampson’s content, previously accessible only in memories. This is yet another step in part of our effort to seamlessly integrate all memory scenes directly into the game. More recently, they also started converting the previously newly created animations for the village to the correct corresponding characters (WIP):

  • Build Release Strategy: We’ve reevaluated our approach to releasing game builds. Historically, our releases have been spaced out due to our practice of waiting for multiple components to be finalized, which invariably leads to prolonged delays. Moving forward, we’ve decided to shift our focus toward smaller, more frequent updates to keep pace with the content demand. While this strategy may result in releases that sometimes seem less polished, we are dedicated to refining this balance to improve our delivery. We’ve realized that players greatly value the opportunity to engage with new content regularly, without the lengthy waits associated with larger updates. Based on comprehensive feedback, we’re confident that this adjusted approach will prove more effective and satisfying for our community.

As always, your feedback is invaluable. Whether it’s through Discord or any other platform, let us know what you think. Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement.

That’s it for today. See you next week! Cheers!
